Show Notes

In “Masters of the Air” (Apple TV+), airmen forge a brotherhood in courage, loss, and triumph as they risk their lives with the 100th Bomb Group during World War II. Supervising sound editor Jack Whittaker, and re-recording mixers, Michael Minkler and Duncan McRae utilize authentic and groundbreaking sound design to immerse viewers in the true stories of the brave men who risked their lives for their country, not knowing whether they would make it home alive.

Whittaker is an Emmy Award-Winner for his work on “Generation Kill” (HBO) and he has worked as a sound designer and sound editor on iconic projects like “Coco” (2017), “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” (2021), and many more.

McRae has worked in the sound department in various roles for over a decade. He’s worked on several high-profile projects as a re-recording mix technician throughout his career, like “Hamilton” (2020), “One Night in Miami…” (2020), and “Cruella” (2021).

Minkler is a three-time Academy Award winner for his work on “Black Hawk Down” (2001), Chicago (2002), and Dreamgirls (2006). Not long after he began his career as a re-recording mixer in the early 1970s, he worked on Star Wars, for which he won a BAFTA for his contribution in 1979.
