Co-Founder Sara Ciplickas sits down with Director Serena Dykman to discuss her recent short, Babka, premiering at HollyShorts on August 9th. In the heart of Hasidic Brooklyn, a newly blind Jewish Orthodox baker (Saul Rubinek) forms an unlikely friendship with a Queer Catholic Latino guide dog trainer (Jonny Beauchamp), embarking on an eye-opening journey to overcome personal and cultural barriers in his quest to reopen his beloved bakery. The short is also in development to become a feature film. Babka is also a nominee for the Humanitas Prize, which will be announced in September. Watch the trailer here.
